Dry roast toor daal in a pan until it changes colour
Transfer to a plate and let it cool
In a pressure cooker add roasted toor daal and water till daal is drowned also salt, turmeric, a little soda
Sometimes daal doesn't cook well if we don't add soda so it's better to add a pinch of soda while cooking daal
Meanwhile in other pan add oil,ginger and all seasoning after we hear crackling sound add onions
After onions turn translucent add 🍅 tomatoes, salt, turmeric and saute them
They turn mushy then add red chilly powder, garam masala and saute them
Now take cooked daal and mash it well and add this to the tomato mixture
Cook for few minutes and in other pan add oil/ghee and add mustard, red chilly powder, dry red chilly, curry leaves, slit green chilly
Add this to the daal and garnish with coriander and serve with jeera rice
